Motor-CAD 方波驱动模式应用

Square Wave Drive Mode

Motor-CAD’s Brushless Permanent Magnet EMag module now includes capability to simulate driving BPM motors with a six-step inverter.

Square wave drives can offer cost advantages in some applications, and motors with more square than sine shaped back EMF may produce smoother torque when driven with square wave current.

Clockwise from top left: square wave motor back EMF; square wave current waveform at low speed; current waveform above voltage limit; and current waveform with part cycle overrunning.

The new feature allows simple parameterisation of the inverter model and, using motor characteristics generated by MotorCAD’s FEA electromagnetic solver, produces current and torque waveforms at the specified operating point. This includes the case of uncontrolled generating mode, over running, when the DC bus voltage limit is exceeded.
